Day 149 - Pelican

This morning we left for SunPark, the lot we had left our car in. It wasn’t a big surprise that the car didn’t start. The staff at the lot tried giving us a boost but in the end we decided it was likely a dead cell in the battery. From what we remember, this is actually the original battery in the 11 year-old Pathfinder, so perhaps it was time for a new one. A call to AAA and within 30 minutes we had their battery service at the lot installing the new battery. The vehicle started smoothly and a few minutes later we were off, on our way back to the ship.

Leaving the ship was tough. Both the captain and crew wanted us to stay for a day or two. There wasn’t another passenger booked into our cabin, so it would have been okay. At this point though, we had everything packed, so we decided to get started on our way back north. We stopped just past Baton Rouge, Louisiana for the night and should be home by Friday.

The picture for today is of a pelican. I took many shots of them in Panama; however, the last shot that I took during the Houston transit is the best. Mainly because we were moving in Houston so they came closer to the ship looking for fish in our wake.
