Day 41 - Grote Markt

041-Grote Markt

The day started off very foggy. In fact, there was little scenery on the way to Brussels, although thankfully it burned off. It left us with a very lovely day to explore this interesting city. With limited time we took a city tour that showed us many things – palaces, the European parliament, and even Chinese and Japanese pavilions. After lunch we spent time walking around the city streets – including the Grote Markt (which is today’s picture). The architecture is very ornate and one building seems more impressive than the last one you’ve seen. Tomorrow we will spend in Antwerp, as we should be sailing either late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. That is, unless something has changed. Next update should be from Aviles in Spain (perhaps 2 or 3 days after sailing) or in Genoa, Italy. That’s always assuming I find Internet access.
